Legacies Empowered offers these training courses to local organizations, schools and businesses. Together, we can confidently break barriers, strengthen families and build generational success.
Mental Health First Aid Training:
An evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches you how to Identify, Understand and Respond to mental health and substance use challenges in our community.
Courses are available for:

Parents, caregivers and other adults who work with youth ages 12-18 to recognize and help young people facing mental health and/or substance use issues. Learn more about Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Teens (14-18) who want to be empowered to help themselves and their peers who are experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. Learn more about Teen Mental Health First Aid.

Community members, organizational leaders and people who work with adults over 18 who may encounter someone having a mental health or substance use issue or crisis. Learn more about Adult Mental Health First Aid.
Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training: Young People and adults can learn to the signs of a suicidal crisis and assist someone who may be thinking about taking their own life. QPR teaches three steps to help save a life (Ask a question, Keep them Safe and Refer to help) and allows you to practice these skills in a safe learning environment.
Overdose Prevention Training:
Legacies Empowered distributes naloxone (Narcan), the overdose reversal medication, and hosts training on how to administer it. With your help, we can empower community members, including youth, to save lives and prevent overdose. We are launching this program during National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (March 17-23, 2025). We will incorporate trainings into our existing programs and welcome requests for trainings.
